Well, the clouds seemed to have cleared a bit. It's not that anything was done to blow them away. But I don't really enjoy being upset/unhappy, and so I tend to get bored feeling that way and move on. The issues are still there waiting to be rekindled. But today is sunny and shiny and I've decided to be sunny and shiny too.
Monday night - Monte's buddies were all busy again. Except Dave. He stopped by for a couple of hours. We talked about The Matrix. We showed him a few episodes of "Sports Night", which he was really digging. Then he left and we settled in to watch Rollerball. Well, I watched. Monte settled in to snooze on me. Which he did. A pleasant, low-key evening.
Last night -
lucyruthe's birthday!! The Good Earth has good food. I must remember it more often. I had fun conversation with Petsnakereggie and the Klumpps, as well as LongHairedGeekBoy and others farther down the table. That ate pretty much the whole evening and we were home by 10pm, but I'd drunk so much tasty iced tea that I was still awake. So I pawed through the Sunday paper till I felt droozy.
Today - it's Wednesday. I think I might go to the library over lunch again. Want to check out some books on tape for the drive down to KC.
Tonight, we are both looking forward to finally joining in one of
mattmn's movie nights! Yay!
Tomorrow night, we are going to the final dress rehearsal of Bloomington Civic Theatre's production of Evita. I don't want to pay $20 to see it, so this is our last best chance to support our friends in the cast but not feel totally pissed about paying to do so.
Friday night, we are meeting with a wedding photographer. Then going to a concert by one of Monte's friends. She's a singer/songwriter and actually quite talented.
Memorial Weekend is crazy: Staff Appreciation dinner Saturday afternoon/evening. Movie party at Rodger's, hosted by David & Krystal in the evening. And then, early early Sunday morning, hopping in the car to drive down to KC to visit Mom and do some fabric reconaissance for the wedding dress. We'll turn around and drive home the next evening.
Silly Windy! Still, I've been itching for some serious road-tripping drive time.
In other news, May was a three paycheck month. Because I have been so good about my financial plan (all bills are allotted a specific paycheck where they will be paid), the third paycheck will actually be a bonus paycheck that does not have to pay any bills. So, I have made a good deposit into savings to cover all the CONvergence-related expenses that usually sneak up on me. I have made another deposit for the wedding. I am splurging and buying
ethel's sound system. I made bonus payments to some of my credit cards.
I'm feeling very adult and responsible and perky about it.
