Last night, I shopped at Axe-Man (something I always mean to do more of, but always forget to do). I failed to find the siren light that I want there. I will look further. I also grocery shopped. Rainbow had lame produce so I left and went to Cub. I went home and relearned the Hot Honey Rag. I ate cookie dough and enjoyed being bad about my diet for a night. I watched many dances on my
Fosse DVD.
Other thoughts:
Shrub is now supporting peace between Israel and Palestine and making a strong show of wanting to force them to reconcile.
#1 Blatant campaign positioning, trying to show he does know something about foreign policy
#2 I'm suddenly reminded of the Iran Hostages. Remember how we got them back? Bush Sr. negotiated getting them back during Reagan's first term. And didn't it involve giving them weapons and result in a major scandal?
We don't have scandals anymore, apparently. At least, Republicans don't. Why is Martha Stewart indicted but the CEO of Enron isn't?
And now we're finding out (shockingly) that immigrants detained after 9/11 were treated poorly and illegally. The response by the Ashcroft AG Crew to any criticism: We did what we had to do to protect America. Yes, and keeping them from due process, leaving the lights on 24 hours a day, and lying to their families about where they were - that really protected America.
And finally, the House passed a bill to create a new Constitutional Amendment that would define marriage as between "one man and one woman" and further that the rights and legal incidents of marriage can only be given to married couples.
Yes, it's just the first volly and a long way away from actually becoming a Constitutional Amendment - but it's still offensive. It's also not getting much press.
