I had a really good night last night, despite several times when I thought it was going to suck.
My stress levels have reduced greatly in just a day.
1. Let us be clear - my stress was through the roof not due to just CVG-stuff, but due to the triple whammy of work, wedding and CVG tasks needing to get done. And in fact, most of the stress is coming from work at the moment.
2. That said, now that I have gotten a start on some of the CVG-stress, the stress has dropped as the tasks start to look more manageable.
3. Also, the work stress has gotten better because I made considerable progress yesterday.
The wedding stuff? Well, it's just gonna have to wait until sometime in July at this point. I have a convention to run!
So, I have some sewing projects to get done for CVG. And I had started cutting them out (I hate cutting stuff out) on Tuesday night. Last night, I finished cutting things. And then I marked them (marking is also sucky, but very very necessary). ("Marking" is putting all the "dart here, pleat here, zipper goes here" marks on the pattern pieces.) And I had high hopes of getting two things ready for fittings for Thursday night.
But I just sat there. And felt all depressed and bogged down. And unable to start. Telling myself I don't like sewing. So, I thought, "well, I'll just get up early tomorrow and do some of it. Worst case, we pin-fit." So, I just did "a few things". But doing a few things turned out to be the lever that got the boulder rolling! I got one thing all stitched up and ready to go. I got the other thing all primed with interfacing applied, and pleats and darts and other things done. And I just kept rolling! And then I woke up at 6am this morning and bounded out of bed to finish it up! And it would be finished, had I not screwed up two seams, requiring ripping. le sigh Still, I will rip those seams at lunch today and go home and stitch up and all will be ready for tonight and fittings!
And I have all Saturday to sew, as well! My tentative plan of sewing projects this week, and all other CVG projects next week seems to be falling into place. Woohoo!
Oh, and for dinner, I used our new really expensive cookware by myself for the first time! I made up a pot of steamy, crunchy vegetables, and some rice. Nummy num num! Look at how healthy I am!
