Livejournal is having psychotic episodes
Jul. 28th, 2003 03:10 pmIt's been...interesting...trying to read about y'alls weekend.
First up: Monte and I are going to see Seabiscuit tonight at the Regal Brooklyn Center at 7:15pm. Feel free to join us!
It was quite the weekend:
Friday night I did go see my friend Joe playing Harold Hill in "The Music Man". The show was okay. Not painful. The choreography was a mess. And they cut one of Marian's songs because she apparently didn't have the top notes for it. But Joe was good in it. And he got cast in the Guthrie's "Christmas Carol" for this winter!! How exciting for him!
Saturday was meeting and party prep. In addition to all the other prep things, I decided to make a Powerpoint Slide Presentation of some of the photos our photographers took. Whee!
The meeting went well. The party set-up was a breeze. (Thanks for getting the bowls, MLE!) And the party went swimmingly!! We get more people at it every year. This year, we had somewhere between 120-150 people! A few minor annoyances (volunteers turning in their cards AT the party and wanting their tshirts! I sense another Re-education Campaign for next year.) and generally wishing I could be everywhere at once, but that's normal. I'm really starting to get a system going on this.
And of course, it's always great to see all my favorite peoples, and favorite con-people who I don't normally see.
I had some fun bonding moments with
ethel too. And ended up with much-needed xmas lights too! I can't wait till next year now - having THAT many lights means getting to be creative. Mwahahaha!
Sunday, we were awoken at 7am by the kids in the pool playing "Marco Polo". Gr. (Spent the night in the hotel room after the party, natch.) Monte and I packed out the remains and headed off to the wilds of Wisconsin for his family reunion thing.
Good lord, that was dull.
We drove three hours there, stayed two (very long) hours, and drove back in 2.5 hours. I don't feel like that was a good time investment somehow. Got home just in time to head out to Movie Night which was muy fabuloso.
Tonight is movie time. Wednesday is Monte and I's third anniversary of our First Date. (aw!)
Have the marathon Board Post Mortem meeting on Sunday. Have final wrap-up things to do for my division and for volunteers.
But mostly - I'm slacking today.
