Sneaky!

I received an email from my bank letting me know that my account had been suspended due to suspicious activities on the part of people/accounts known to be fraudulent.

It provided a link to click on where I could verify my account. (Which would have included entering my account number, I'm betting, except that the link didn't load on my browser...which made me stop and look and...)

It was itself a fraudulent email! Which I figured out when I noticed that the email came from an "att.net" account instead of a "usbank.com" account.

Oh, those sneaky sneaks.

I called my bank and let them know about it, and asked them to note that I received the email on this date (just in case they somehow did get info on my account...I'm paranoid). And I forwarded the email to their fraud help email.

So - keep your eyes open! These sneaky sneaks are getting sneakier...

You might have noticed that it's not a picture of me.
It is, in fact, a picture of Lexinatrix.
I have it titled "Distrust".

It's one of my favorite faces of hers - that skeptical, yet polite look.

Love you, Lex! *mwah!*

Some people are just fucksticks, y'know?

I am currently aggravated by a comment made roundabouts about dealing with "Windy's Wedding Whims".
To rebuff for my own personal enjoyment:
1. Wanting the ushers in movie usher outfits was a whim.
2. Wanting 16mm film reels in the centerpiedes was a whim.
3. Wanting to change the date of the wedding so as not to conflict with the BNAT was NOT a "whim".
4. Wanting to attend the Board Election at which my seat was being elected was also not a "whim".
Wanting to kick to the curb certain people is becoming a downright imperative.

I am also sickened by our society: So much is perception and hearsay and so little is about finding out what really happened and what was really said.
Newsbites, headlines and gossip are fine for forming a general impression, but one should always be open to the results of further investigation.

Other negative things:
I screwed up at rehearsal last night. I used a derogatory term in front of the kids. I used it jokingly, and I used it because in my social circles (especially the theatrical ones), it has become an okay term (when used teasingly, affectionately, jokingly). As soon as I said it, I thought "That was dumb." My only excuse is that I got my theatrical/social wiring crossed: I was in rehearsal so it should've been alright, except that it was not.
So tonight, I need to address it with the kids and somehow communicate that I'm not homophobic ("I have a lot of gay friends!"), that it's never okay to be derogatory. Even though it can be okay in the right situations once you are an adult.

Edwards came in second in Iowa?!?

The State of the Union address tonight

I need to choreograph the Crapshooters Dance by tomorrow night and I'm completely stalled

I might need to recast my Nicely-Nicely Johnson because he is failing AP English. Quick! Recast a key role that requires a high tenor and some comic ability from a bunch of chorus guys who panic when I try to assign a one-line part in a scene!

Continuing Choreography Regret

Good things:
I have a terrific husband
Supercon is this weekend
El Dogo is coming to Supercon
DDR
The people I spend a good deal of time with are very special to me
Having an embarrassment of riches in the friends/social opportunities arena
Change is in the wind
Thanks to Lucyruthe & LHGB, I have figured out how to have a birthday party
My birthday is coming up
"Angel" on DVD
