Relaxing into the Sloth
Mar. 22nd, 2004 01:24 pmQuick weekend recount:
Friday night, I impulsively called
lucyruthe and, after bribing with a Jucy Lucy, convinced her she wanted to come over and hang out. She was a Jucy Lucy virgin! No longer - she glowed with satisfaction.
We chatted alot and drank wine and watched Excalibur, which she had never seen.
At 2am, she left and I finally went to bed.
Saturday, instead of being productive in other ways, I chose to be productive about laundry. I also played DDR. And I did other things, but I don't remember what.
Then I picked up
cajones and we went to the concom meeting, which zipped by, as did the mailing party afterward. I chatted muchly with
spacebug and
s4 about Burning Man. I'm excited and curious and wanting to know everything!
Home to pick up Monte, then off to WeaselKing's birthday dinner at Surabhi. Great food, lame service. But I'd go back again, the food was that good (and the service was exacerbated by the large group-ness, I'm betting). Then, despite tiredness, we swung by
birdfigment's party and encountered many others we knew as well! And we stayed longer than we had originally intended, we were having such fun.
Sunday, again, I gave into the sloth and read "Watchmen" in the morning. Then I went out and did errands (although I forgot to do some I need to get done). Then I came home. I colored my hair. I put a roast in the crockpot. I did dishes. I played alot of DDR (my calves hurt today). I watched Shine which I adored. Then I watched Amelie which I also adore.
We both opted for the staying in. Monte was working on a project and I...I continue to do oddly cocoon-like things. I'm not antisocial, I'm just lazy.
Other thoughts and things to do:
- it has been a while since I have connected with a new social group (as I am with the Calie/Skott enclave) and I am re-experiencing the angst that comes from being a shy child grown up into an outgoing person. It makes me appreciate older relationships where the groundrules and all the definitions have already been established. I just want everybody to like me! Oy.
- I have a lot to do.
- I am seriously looking into a Master's of Education for teaching purposes. This will take at least 2 years, likely. I like my current job, but the realization of another two years hit this morning. And I'm wrapping my head around that. When I make a decision, I usually jump rather precipitously.
- Can't wait for DisneyWorld.
- Still love the hubby.
- Going shopping at Target over lunch.
I need to:
Finish
433's coat
Run to the MOA for a few things before the trip
Take my car to the repair shop
Pick up the costumes from the cleaners
Go to a home buyer's seminar tonight
Pack
Longer term:
Rodger's curtains
Tons of costumes
CVG notes
Find Daytimer pages
Do the taxes
Loads of other financial things
So - off I go to Target.
