windelina: (staring kitty)
So, Friday night, I am going to see a community theatre production of Damn Yankees. Live stage musical. I've never seen the stage version, just the fabulous Gwen Verdon movie version (note that Gwen Verdon is fabulous. Not the movie.).

Monte is going to a baroque dance concert. I would like company. Anybody out there wanna see some musical theatre with me?
Bad times are happening to friends, so here I am - offering an evening of goofy entertainment. AND the theatre is not far from Matt's Bar so we could have some JucyLucy goodness as part of the evening too!

Other news:
Stress has melted away on the job front. The living room is clean and tidy. I'm getting laundry done. I played DDR last night. I'm re-reading "The Riddlemaster of Hed" books. I've got stuff to get done at work today. I need to get the costumes to the dry cleaner.

Holiday presents this year will likely be the offering of services rather than actual goods. Cheap, but hopefully thoughtful in the end.

Upcoming calendar (to start getting my thoughts in order):
Tonight - directors meeting
Thursday - mailing party (you're all invited!)
Friday - Damn Yankees
Saturday - Frog & Toad!!! And maybe the Movie Night thingy afterwards. Also, curtain stuff likely.
Sunday - Likely "Working" which is another musical that another friend is in. Anybody wanna join for that? Studs Terkel, people!
Monday & Tuesday - currently empty but likely to fill up
Wednesday - leave work to drive down to KC for the holiday

I will miss the first of the 12 movies of Xmas. And FATT at the Waterhouses. I am sad. Conversely, Mom is downright giddy at having company for the holiday. And it'll be a nice mini-break.
Of course, somewhere in there I need to do the preparation for the Audition Workshop that I will be giving the kids on the Monday and Tuesday following Thanksgiving weekend.
Of course, that Tuesday is also Monte & I's one-year wedding anniversary. He's okay that I scheduled something on it. We're going out to a nice-ish dinner after I finish the workshop.
And BNAT is sorta our anniversary anyway. We're not really anniversary people (or at least, we haven't been before). I like to note the milestones, but I haven't needed big celebrations. Perhaps I should in the future. Hm.
