CVG - Sunday

I wake up in time to shower before my panel.
I grab my notes.
I run to the elevator.
Which takes forever.
I get a call in the elevator - "where are you?" "I'm on the elevator and heading that way as fast as I can!"

The Costumes in Movies panel went well. I felt pretty uninspired - not surprising for a Sunday morning panel. But lucyruthe and barda know their stuff.

Then I had another panel. But I had a brief break in between. One of the video guys caged me to describe building the Zim costumes. Said description ate up the time between, so back I go into the Bloomington room for Non-genre-films-you-should-really-see-dammit!

My prep for this panel consisted entirely of a list of film from my own collection. Luckily, more clever heads were also on this panel, which I had a marvelous time on. I don't know or care if the audience enjoyed it as much as I did. Perhaps we should have discussed more why fans skip certain films - but we were all having too much fun spouting off film recommendations.

I then had a couple of hours to myself. Crazy!

(I just remembered that I worked an hour in Registration on Saturday. Did I mention that??)

So, I wandered through the Dealers Room. Had a brief chat with GoH Crist Ballas. Hugs and chat with the Clarkses. I did other things too, I'm sure. God only knows what.

Then it was time for the at-con Post Mortem which went quickly and was very low-key, thankfully.
Then Closing Ceremony tech rehearsal.
Then a quick dash up to the room to get dressed and grab the Gir head.

then Closing Ceremony. The skit went well. I had only one line, and found myself at one point snapping back to attention. My mind had wandered off without even sending a post card! No, I'm not sleep deprived. Not at all!
I'm pretty pleased with how well the Batman costume came out. I need to fix the neckline of the cowl/hood though. And I'm sick of making three-piece suits, so don't ask me. In retrospect, I should have found a stretchy fabric for Moneygod.

Then, I changed quickly back to comfy clothes and sat in the wings watching just like everyone else. Except I was in the wings. And then it was over.

We proceed on to more traditional happenings. I do a quick round of "who wants to join in pizza?" Moneygod orders the pizza. We meet up for chatting and storytelling in the short tower plaza. We got ALOT of pizza. But eventually we found enough people to eat it.

After pizza, I ended up in the bar with Crist and several others telling stories and howling with laughter. Ethel told me the Best Drunk Story Ever, and I in turn shared it with others. I am the Keeper of the One True Tale (all other refinements are Revisionist History!). Eventually, I wandered off and found myself in Cinema Rex for the late night shenanigans.

Mom and I dropped by lucyruthe's to admire her pants.

Then to bed.

Oh! And Burnunit stopped me and told me a tale to make me laugh.
Apparently, Saturday night close to 2am, 433 appears at the door to Connie's. He locks eyes with Burnunit. He proceeds to zero in on him until they are mere inches apart: "Do you need anything?!"
Burnunit confusedly declines.
433 explains: "Because I'm only on duty for another 12 minutes. If you need anything, I can get it for you for the next 12 minutes."
Burnunit: "Who is on after you?"
433: "Windy"
When next Burnunit takes note of his surroundings, it is to find Windy standing playing with the spinny thing on the bar exclaiming "wheeee!"
Burnunit explained to me his thought at the time:
"Great. One is clearly insane, and the other is driving us off the cliff.
We're in good hands."

*grin*
