Don't speak, just...go

Katherine Hepburn rocks. And Spencer Tracy was a cute old codger.
Anyway,
Saturday, I slept until 11am. I needed to. I had been out LATE almost every night last week. Especially Friday night, when the board had its post-convention, self-congratulatory, storytelling dinner. And much meat was had, yay verily. And much laughter as well.
Next year, I'll skip the marguerita and go straight for the wine. More buzz for the buck.
So, Saturday, I got up and cleaned the litter box. Then I washed the area rug that normally goes under the litterbox. One of my kitties (I'm pretty sure it's Gizmo) has taken to peeing in the vicinity of the box, but not actually in it. I had thought this was happening just when the litter got particularly bad. So, I washed the rug, cleaned the litter, treated the rug with anti-pee-smell stuff. And while it was drying, I left the plastic sheet down that I keep under the rug.
And found out that one of the cats peed on the plastic instead of in the newly cleaned litter.
This is a serious issue. I will not have a cat that will not use the litter. I love my cats, but I will not put up with that. So, we're trying not having ANYTHING outside the litterbox. Not even the litter mat. It will make for more litter-scatter, but perhaps will break the pattern.
I don't want to eventually move into a place with carpet and have a cat that pees anywhichplace.
Anyway, after the Great Litter Cleaning, I did the dishes. Then I treated myself by running out to see the documentary Spellbound about the national spelling bee. VERY good. Highly recommend. Saw three trailers for movies that I now want to see as well (Whale Rider, Camp and Northfork).
Came home. Monte arrived home from his Saturday job. We cuddled on the couch and watched Thirteen Days, also very good. Decided we were hungry. Tried for Matt's and Jucy Lucies, but it was packed. So, we got lazy and just headed for the BLB and had dinner there pre-No Pants. And we ran into EVERYBODY.
No Pants was funny. Somewhat recycled. The dance was terrific this month.
Then Monte turned into a pumpkin and we went home.
Sunday we slept till 11am again. Then we got up and had breakfast. And then we puttered in the second bedroom/workroom/computer room. We put things away. We threw things away. We puttered on computers. And it was good. Eventually, I cut Monte's hair, and then we showered, and then we went to Movie Night.
Monte made a delicious stir fry. I brought cookie dough. Very true to form for us! And it had been far too long since I had seen Guess Who's Coming to Dinner? (I barely remembered how it went!). And Pisces and Dragonlady showed up! A rare treat that added to the festive atmosphere!
Much conversation afterwords, some consensus building on some current issues, and then I took Monte home. But I borrowed "1633" to read and Victor, Victoria to show Monte (he's never seen it!).
Half-day at work today. Lunch at Sawatdee with David and Krystal. Movie matinee with whoever shows up. And then we'll see what happens this evening.
I'm unhappy with my job. I'm envious of those who get to go to Comic-Con. But I'm still so damned happy with my life.
I'm a lucky girl.

Date: 2003-07-14 09:58 am (UTC)I have seen a bunch of posters for Whale Rider in the tube stations, and it looks intriguing. I don't think it opens here until after I leave, though.
