So, one of the lawyers I work for (the first one I was assigned to, a partner in the firm, and the guy who gives me the most money every xmas) told me on Friday about an upcoming change.
He and three other lawyers (one of whom I also support) will be moving to a different floor sometime this year.
So, I would be losing 2 of the 6 laywers I work for.
Leaving me with the four who give me the least to do. But two of whom are really funny. Hm.
So, I'm considering moving with the four who'll go to another floor.
Cons:
- this other floor is CROWDED. I'd have people around me all the time, and I've gotten used to relative quiet.
- this other floor seems to be full of chatty-patties. That could drive me up a wall - especially if it's mindless office drivel.
- I would then become part of THAT floor's support staff, and could get reassigned around in THAT group.
- I'd be giving up the other four guys I support, who I like and enjoy working for
Pros:
- it'd be a change
- I'd probably have more consistent work flow
- the four I'd be supporting are all also fun and nice (and three are partners)
- they could probably guard me from getting assigned off of them or elsewhere
- I really enjoy working for Gary and Michael and I'd get to keep them
Dunno. Luckily, I don't have to make a decision right away. I let the floor support supervisor know I might be interested in going with them when they move, so I've got dibs if I decide to jump that way.
