A recent email from the director of GODSPELL:

That is exactly what I am after!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you nailed it baby!!!!!!!! that sense of energy and fun is exactly why I cast you!!!( well your talent helps too!!!!) But that is the sense I want from you.

Gee - think he's a bit excited? Possibly....GAY??
{snork!}

There are donuts.

Sitting right...there.

I can smell the sugar.

But all the chocolate-covered glazed have been taken.

I'm also starting to track what I'm eating. Seeing how much it really is, looking up how many calories. Also, I'm tracking what I eat against the "Food Pyramid" to see if I'm getting all the correct servings in.

Needless to say, I have no problem meeting the BREAD quota.

{shrug} Okay.
(It's not a task I'm looking forward to and I still have a month to get it done...)

I went home and did NOT exercise. I opted for an actual dinner instead. Not rushed. Not snacks. So, I made my new favorite: chicken and broccoli and water chestnuts fried up in olive oil and garlic.

This time I added a bit of cinnamon to the mix and it tasted GOOD. Must remember!

Then we had rehearsal. I was headachey, so I didn't enjoy it as much and wasn't feeling as perky. Poor me. Still, it was a good night, and I did get some exercise in after all.
Came home, ate a few spoonfuls of chocolate ice cream to treat myself, and went to bed.

This morning - I exercised! Only 20 minutes, but still. Go me!
And I successful avoided eating a donut!
Instead I had a banana.
And later this morning I'll have a snack of pb toast and milk.
And I brought my lunch again.

After work, I get to go to the chiro and get crunched. Yesssss, precious! And then I'll run home and make myself some MEAT for dinner (I remembered to take a small steak out of the fridge to defrost!). Then another dance rehearsal (with NO headache this time!). And then I run over and check the iguanas for Amy & Dan on my way home.

The Oscar nominations came out and I'm dreadfully behind on movies I need to see!

Oscar noms came out.

Here's the movies I still need to see:
Gangs of New York
The Hours
The Pianist
Adaptation
About Schmidt
The Quiet American (if I can see it - is it around?)
Unfaithful
Far From Heaven
Frida (I'm gonna skip it-I hate Salma Hayek)
Catch Me If You Can
About a Boy
Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron
Treasure Planet (can you believe this got nominated??)

Some preliminary thoughts:
BEST PICTURE
They won't give it to "The Two Towers" (they're holding off till "Return of the King"). "The Pianist" is by Roman Polanski and he's a moral leper to most. "Gangs" was a mess, according to most critics. People still feel bad for "Moulin Rouge" losing - so I'm going to say "Chicago" will win it.

Need to see to many movies to guess on the acting categories

DIRECTOR
Roman Polanski - see above. I doubt they'll give it to Rob Marshall, even though they should. They might go old school with Scorsese. This is Daldry's second nomination, but Almodovar got screwed by his own country (Spain submitted a different picture for their entry). I'm going to guess Daldry, and hope for Marshall.

ADAPTED SCREENPLAY
Charlie Kaufman for "Adaptation". They don't know what to do with the man, but this is a safe category to reward someone clearly gifted. Although, I will give "Chicago" a close second, because it's a brilliant adaptation of a play considered un-adaptable.

ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY
Here's where Almodovar wins.

ANIMATED FEATURE FILM
If there is a God in heaven, this will go to "Lilo & Stitch" or to "Spirited Away". Considering that "Schrek" beat the far superior "Monsters, Inc." last year, I don't believe God is in his heaven. It'll probably go to "Ice Age".
