See? I told ya!

I went to make a hotel reservation for the honeymoon. Bestfares.com listed a price that was good at the hotel we wanted. As I clicked through to make the reservation, I noticed that there were fees for using Bestfares. "Well," I thought, "how much is a room straight from the hotel, without the fees?" I of course also thought, "If it's significantly higher, maybe I'll call them and negotiate them down based on the Bestfares rate."
I go to the hotel website and they have the EXACT same rate. Except that by booking directly through them, I save about $20 on fees. And the best part? I get to pick exactly what type of hotel room I want through them, where I wouldn't with Bestfares. (I got a king-size bed, on a higher floor with a view!)
