Messed Up Double Feature
Jun. 11th, 2004 11:18 amLast night Monte and I went to educate two of the JLA household.
Amanda had never seen Singing in the Rain.
Barda had never seen Aliens.
So. We ordered Chinese. Barda baked a cake. We drank cider. And we watched them. A night of terrific movieness, albeit a strange combination.
Notable quote: "If he were different and I were different, I would go for him."
But best was Barda totally loving Ripley and Vasquez (and the incomparable Hudson, of course!).
Vasquez drew many exclamations, but it's the shot of Ripley on the elevator with the gun in the steam before she steps out to go save Newt (and confront the Queen)...
I exclaimed, "She is The Shit!"
To which Barda replied, "She is the Father, Son and Holy Shit!"
Which, while not gender accurate, is damned funny.
A charming, delightful evening. Whee! Of course, I did not sew. Oh, well.
