Mango, not eat-your-soul-orange!
Jul. 23rd, 2004 11:49 amLast night was productive, even with a coupla hour break for a meeting in there.
Went directly from work to the house, where I finished painting the closet in my workroom. Monte and company started taping the kitchen for painting.
When I returned, they had eaten pizza, painted the first coat of the kitchen, taped the trim in workroom and started cleaning the walls of the bedroom.
Dayamn!
So, Nathan and I painted the trim in my bedroom. I had wanted to get the baseboards done before moving in, and now I have all the trim done. Yay! My workroom looks fantabulous!!
The kitchen however...we were aiming for a mango color. The color we got is much more aggressive than mango. It's like Giant Mutant Mango storming through downtown Tokyo. Hm.
Monte went home and I was there again till 1am, tidying up. I moved the sewing stuff up into the now finished workroom. Yay! But as I was walking through the mostly dim rooms downstairs something about the size of a mouse scuttled right by my foot. Note: I do not squeal like a girl. I make a guttural low "wuuwuwu!" sound when I am startled/creeped out.
It was too dark to see where it was. Monte and I are hoping it was a mouse because a bug that big...shudder. It went from the bedroom to the bathroom and then I have no idea where. I looked in the bathroom and could not see anyplace for it to have vanished into.
Things Yet to Do, aka The Plan for the Next Few Days
- finishing cleaning bedroom in preparation for painting (tonight)
- paint bedroom (including ceiling, oy it needs it) (start tonight, probably finish Sunday)
- get sealant gunk off of tub edges (likely Sunday)
- caulk tub (Sunday)
- clean bathroom (Sunday)
- repaint the kitchen with a lighter, more friendly shade of mango (Sunday)
- mop the living room (Sunday)
- mop the basement (Sunday)(it will eventually need a cat-proofing/cleaning but that can wait till after the move)

mattmn's on Sunday and clean/paint the fridge. (We're going to spray paint it shiny black unless someone tells me that's a really bad idea, and even then we'll probably still do it.)
- PACK!! (Sunday and Monday evening)
I'm really resenting this wedding tomorrow. We have a ton to do and I'm losing a day!
I suppose I could take Monday or Tuesday off work...
If any of youse want to help on Sunday, we could certainly organize a work crew. Give a call! (You know the number by now, right?)
