Ouch! Hitting the wall hurts!
Jul. 26th, 2004 12:54 pmFriday night much did get done at the house. We started painting the bedroom and repainting the kitchen.
Saturday was spent on an exercise in futility: driving to and from Appleton Wisconsin for about 1.5 hours of required family wedding time. The wedding and reception were...nice. Heartfelt. Not terribly original. The food was excellent though! And we spent the 3 hours in between wedding and reception (WHAT is with THAT?) at the movie theatre watching The Bourne Supremacy. Hm. I liked it, but hated the cinematography. I thought the car chase at the end was just brutal which was good, but it was shot so poorly that I could't really follow it. And the scene at the end with the daughter was very effective, but shot in a very self-concious "arty" way. Oh, well.
Got home about 1am Saturday night (Monte drove the last hour because I just suddenly could not stay awake).
Up at around 10am or so on Sunday. Sleeping in was a bit of a luxury, but a necessary one. I spent the afternoon at![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
mattmn's, cleaning and painting our donated fridge. I hope it looks okay in the light of day (painting in a garage makes for some interesting lighting angles). *shrug* It's a free fridge!
Then back to the house, where I cleaned off the fridge drawers and shelves. And then swept and mopped the basement (that took quite a while...ew). Monte and Drew finished up the bedroom. And did some cleaning of the bathroom. And we discovered that the paint in the kitchen was bubbling, and peeling. And Monte and I still don't like the color, so yet more painting in the future.
And then cleaning out the living room, putting things away and mopping the living room floor.
Monte spent his lunch hour today doing final touchups on the bedroom and putting away everything. So, the house is in pretty good shape for the move tomorrow night.
Tonight - we pack.
