So, we now have a BBS available on the Omegacon website.

This has been put up specifically to help people find others to share a hotel room with.
So, if you know of someone needing roommates, go post on the BBS!
Or go see who else is looking!

Pass the word!

Maybe you should provide a link to it?

It's www.omegacon.net

If you're too lazy to copy/paste that into your URL line, there's really no help for you.

Laurel and I both looked at the site and thought this was an amazing idea. I like the whole figure/ground reversal - a con is "supposed" to be about certain things, and other things are in the background, even though many people enjoy the background more. (When I talk to certain parties about CONvergence, for example, some of the best stories and the most anticipation involves things unrelated to panels) In that respect Omegacon (from what I gather from your postings and the websites) should be called Honestcon (pardon the oxymoron) because it allows fans to get away indulge in things they like without the pretense of claiming they are going because they want to get Todd Bryant's autograph.

So, I want to go - I can't this year. But a quick question: are the con rates for rooms for the WHOLE WEEKEND or per night? Another quick question: Is their a mailing list so I can be informed if it will take place next year?

Room rates are per night (it's about $70-80 per night for a room, I think).

As for the mailing list - email the Exec (Pat Wick) and tell her you want to be on the mailing list for next year!
