so much to do!

Still need to finish up the Convention and After Reports.
Need to sew curtains. (That happens this weekend.)
Clean and Paint.
Get the tree trimmed off the power lines.
Look into doors and windows and things.
Security system.
Glass block windows.
A new deadbolt on the upstairs door?? (There's a door from the main floor to the upstairs. If I put a new deadbolt on it - it has one now, but I don't have the key - I could move things in and lock them upstairs. Much harder to get to...)
Board Dinner and Post Mortem Planning tomorrow evening.
No Pants tonight.
Possibly some Home Depot window shopping tonight.
So, if any of y'all are bored in the next few weeks, give me a call and ask if I'm working on the house. I probably will be, and would enjoy the company (and the help)!

Date: 2004-07-09 03:42 pm (UTC)I could use your input on how to do window treatments at my place. I want to do something (sheers?) beyond just the blinds I'd planned.

Date: 2004-07-10 10:25 pm (UTC)If the upstairs door and jam is solidly built, a deadbolt might be worth your while. A stairwell is a fairly akward place to kick in a door.
On the other hand: If you plan on keeping most of your electronic goodies on the first floor like most people, the burglar will probably not bother much with the upstairs anyway. Too far away from the exits for a quick getaway.
Consider investing in a cabinet that locks for your DVD collection. DVD are small, lightweight, valuable, and anonymous. They are very popular with thieves.
