I suppose I could stop waiting for y'all to entertain me and do my part as well.
Friday night we did NOT go to the class at the Home Depot. We stayed in and vegged.
Saturday was mega-busy. I slept in. I ran errands to Target, Home Depot, Cub and a liquor store. We went to see Hero with WeaselKing and Jenni. We went to a welcome home party for a friend. We went to Joe's show. I went to Kelvin's birthday hang-around, sans Monte who had pumpkined. Where I drank most of the 6-pack of cider I brought for Kelvin. Bad Windy! Floors get more comfortable the more you drink.
Sunday we went out to Fest with my twin and with Amy Burge. We saw Villification Tennis. We saw TSOH. Drunk and Disorderly. The Dregs, of course. We spent much time at the pub. If I still worked at fest, all I'd do is hang around the pub all day. And yell at loud annoying patrons talking during the show. Asshats. We tried to see Zilch, but the body mic distorted his voice so much that we couldn't understand him. Considering it's a show about LANGUAGE, it's rather important to be able to clearly hear the words. In the irony category: we were standing at the back of the audience, where in times past I've had no problem hearing Zilch un-amplified. I'm sure it saves his voice, but I hate the mic'ing of the stages. We left earlier than intended due to the rain and went and had lunch at China Pagoda. Num.
Monday, we house-puttered. Specifically, we got the basement put together and organized. Yay! It's pretty much about the upstairs and the porch at this point. Not bad. (Course, now I head into rehearsals which will slow down all progress on everything.) Then dinner with the inlaws, an indoctrination session with my brother-in-law, home and "Invader Zim".
Last night was the first night of auditions for Kiss Me, Kate. Another set tonight and callbacks tomorrow night. The good news is that about a third of the auditioners were BOYS! Yay! The bad news is that about half the boys couldn't sing. The good news is there wasn't a truly awful reading in the bunch of them. More good news is there was about 30 of them. (For comparison, "Guys and Dolls" had maybe 30 for both nights of auditions. And just enough guys auditioned to fill the lead and speaking roles. All the chorus boys were recruited afterwards.) And as usual, I've got loads of possibilities for the girl roles, but have not yet seen anyone for any of the boy roles. *crosses fingers*

Jon Leiseth from 15 Head is a visiting theater professor this year. It's going to be a good year for theater around here.
