Friday night
Monte and I stayed in. We made pasta alfredo with leftover turkey in it. Num. Then we watched most of Ghostbusters. About the time our heroes were headed into the building for the final showdown, I called a halt and we went to bed and immediately to sleep. Yay.

Saturday
We lounged in bed for quite a while. I had an audition to get to, but I had no set time I needed to be there and a 4-hour time window to hit. We talked and snuggled and were generally lazy. Eventually he got up to go do laundry at his parents and I got up to go to the audition.

The audition was in White Bear Lake. Not my normal stomping grounds. It's at the ends of the earth, or close enough (you can see the drop-off from there). Using mapquest directions (when will I learn), I promptly got lost. I decided to stop at a gas station to call the audition hotline to get better directions. I pull into the first gas station I see, and what is right before me? The audition place I was looking for! The gods smile upon me sometimes.

The audition (for Godspell) went well. I was the only one of my group (6 girls) who did a belting song. Everybody else went very legit and soprano. Um...have you listened to the music for this show?? {shrug} Ohhh..kay.

A good fun quick audition. They would be making the phone calls about callbacks that evening.

I then headed out on a quick errand before the MISFITS meeting and elections. I stopped by a Michael's (near Maplewood Mall. Note to self: Do not go within a 5 mile radius of a mall at holiday season. The traffic was incomprehensible and reprehensible.) to find out about getting mats for some prints I bought for Monte. The mats would cost $12 a piece and take 2 weeks to get. No thanks.

Then meeting and elections. Meeting was fine, elections were fine, the readings were good, but a bit long in places. I then got coerced into social time and Spaced at Mike Lee's house. And damn glad I was! I had a lovely evening and much fun. With pizza! Monte joined in later in the evening. Spaced is very funny. And I got to see some Doctor Who, too. What a shock.

I checked my messages at home occasionally, but no message about callbacks. Call me back, darn it!!

When I finally got home close to midnight and checked messages? Yep - I got called back. Sweet.

Sunday
Sunday, Monte and I slept in. Again. I really stocked up on my sleep this weekend. (Good thing, cuz this next weekend is anti-sleep.) He made pancakes for breakfast and we finished up Ghostbusters. Then I headed out to a dance rehearsal for my kids thing. That only took an hour, but I ran by Michael's again to buy matting supplies. I attempted matting myself and discovered that I shouldn't. $10 wasted, but a lesson learned. And at the end, a brainstorm! I will get posterboard and cut into the right shape and cover with fabric. I have a nice black linen/satin fabric that ought to be very nice. Sometimes, I'm smart.

After my failed arts and crafts, and vision of redemption, I headed over to movie night. Strictly Ballroom. Aw, yeah. After the movie, I stuck around chatting and eventually discussing BNAT travel details and then other things and I got home at 1am. Silly, but fun.

Today I get to leave work early (4pm) to go to holiday happy hour with my work group. Drinks and appetizers and socializing. Then I leave that a bit early to go home and get ready for another, different audition (Gilbert & Sullivan this time). Another audition tomorrow night (for "Snoopy", the "sequel" to "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown"). And callbacks for Godspell Wednesday night. And Thursday night is about BNAT prep.

I think it's going to be a good week.

I've got my happy face on!!
